entrepreneurship

​An 8-month course that gives students a college-level understanding of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. With the help of coaches and UCLA mentors, students create original business concepts, write comprehensive business plans, and compete at pitch competitions. ​​

College Counseling

Our comprehensive College Admissions program aims to guide students through the admissions process with an emphasis on their own agency in making one of the most important decisions of their lives. 

​Model UN

Students will learn to research, debate, and negotiate, enhancing their communication and critical thinking abilities. Our experienced coaches guide students towards understanding complex international issues, fostering a passion for diplomacy and global awareness.

Our classes are designed as intensive contained experiences focused on making students active participants in the education process, all the while bridging the gap between traditional frameworks and real-life examples.

Our goal at Breakthrough is to help students define what matters to them. Whether it be an idea, career, or degree, we want to help our students, not just by giving them the tools for success, but by teaching them to create their own tools for success.

Collaboration

While other learning centers emphasize individual learning and achievement, many of our classes, including Civics Education in Action, challenge students to develop strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills by working and collaborating with other students. ​

Discussion

Through our various Writing Classes, we reinforce the importance of discussion and critical thinking around current events that affect not just our local community, but the nation and beyond. ​

Competition

Just because we don’t do SAT prep doesn’t mean we shy away from competition. Many of our classes including Entrepreneurship for Teens require our students to compete and build public speaking and presentational skills. ​
